Security

  • Newsletter sign-ups must now be confirmed: the subscriber receives a confirmation link (valid for 48 hours) and the reward coupon is created and emailed only after it is clicked. Sign-up requests are limited per IP address and per email address every day even when Abuse Prevention is switched off, a hidden honeypot field (smartcouponx_website) drops bot submissions, and the new smartcouponx_newsletter_allow filter lets your form's own anti-spam check reject a request. Existing sign-up forms keep working without changes; see the readme FAQ.

Added

  • Hooks for the newsletter confirmation flow: smartcouponx_newsletter_confirmed action and the smartcouponx_newsletter_confirmation_email, smartcouponx_newsletter_confirmation_redirect, smartcouponx_newsletter_confirmation_ttl, smartcouponx_newsletter_ip_limit, smartcouponx_newsletter_email_limit and smartcouponx_newsletter_honeypot_field filters.
  • The Email tab warns when the From address is on a different domain than the shop, because such mail often fails SPF/DMARC checks and lands in spam.
  • The Analytics page shows a notice when the database server is older than MySQL 5.7 / MariaDB 10.2, which the reports require.

Changed

  • Referral link visits are counted once per visitor and referral code per day instead of on every page load.
  • The suggested privacy policy text now describes the referral records (referrer and referred customer IDs, status and reward amount) and the newsletter confirmation step.

Fixed

  • Decimal discount amounts (for example 7.5 % or 12.50) can be saved in the Triggers and Referral settings and in cart trigger rows; day and limit fields accept whole numbers only.
  • Cart value and cart item rewards are evaluated after WooCommerce has calculated the cart totals, so removing a coupon can no longer grant a reward against a stale total.
  • Uninstalling the plugin also removes the license state stored by the StoreEngine SDK for this plugin.

Removed

  • The unused smartcouponx_triggers database table (dropped automatically on update) and the always-empty /smartcouponx/v1/triggers REST route.
  • Nine unused AJAX endpoints that no screen called: prize wheel, social sharing reward, leaderboard, customer coupon list, referral link, referral stats, bulk coupon generation, coupon export and analytics data. The My Account coupon list, the Referrals dashboard, the analytics CSV export and the newsletter sign-up keep working.
