Common Issues

The chat button does not appear on my store#

Symptom: No chat bubble in the bottom corner of the storefront.

Cause: WooCommerce is inactive, the plugin is inactive, the widget is turned off for mobile, or a caching or optimisation plugin strips the script.

  1. Check Plugins: both WooCommerce and LeetCart AI for WooCommerce must be active. The admin shows a red notice if WooCommerce is missing.
  2. On a phone, check Chatbot Builder → Show on Mobile.
  3. Clear your page cache and any JavaScript optimisation (defer, combine) for the swpr-chat-widget script, then reload.
  4. Open the browser console. A 404 for /wp-json/swpr/v1/ means the REST API is blocked; see the next issue.

“Sorry, I could not answer that right now”#

Symptom: Every message gets the generic apology.

Cause: The AI provider rejected the request: wrong or missing API key, no billing on the provider account, a retired model, or the server cannot reach the provider.

  1. Go to Connections, click Save Changes, then Test connection. The message tells you whether the provider accepted the key.
  2. If the key is defined in wp-config.php, confirm the constant is spelled SWPR_API_KEY and has no extra spaces.
  3. Check the provider account has billing or credits set up.
  4. Open Chat History → View on the failed conversation: the “Error: …” line shows the provider’s actual message.
  5. Still stuck? Set WP_DEBUG and WP_DEBUG_LOG to true and look for LeetCart AI: lines in wp-content/debug.log.

“Invalid security token” or the chat works for guests but not when I am logged in#

Symptom: Logged-in users get an error; guests chat normally.

Cause: A stale page cache served an old REST nonce to the logged-in user.

  1. Exclude logged-in users from page caching, or exclude pages where the widget is used.
  2. Clear the cache and reload the storefront.

Shoppers hit the rate limit although they sent only a few messages#

Symptom: “Too many requests” replies after one or two messages, especially behind Cloudflare or a load balancer.

Cause: Every visitor reaches PHP with the same proxy IP, so they share one rate-limit counter.

  1. Add the swpr_client_ip filter from Developer Hooks to read the real visitor IP from your proxy’s header.
  2. As a short-term workaround, raise Max Messages Per Minute (per IP) or set it to 0.

The assistant shows products I changed or deleted#

Symptom: Old prices or stock in product cards.

Cause: Search results are cached for five minutes.

  1. Go to Dashboard → Quick Actions → Clear Product Cache.
  2. Confirm the product is published and in stock; out-of-stock and draft products are excluded automatically.

The assistant recommends products from a category I excluded#

Symptom: Excluded products still appear.

Cause: The setting was not saved, or cached results from before the change are still being served.

  1. Open AI Persona → Product Exclusions, confirm the category is ticked and click Save Changes.
  2. Go to Dashboard → Quick Actions → Clear Product Cache.
  3. Open the product in Products and check its categories. A product is excluded when any of its categories is ticked; if it still appears, it is only in categories you have not ticked.

Colour or size filters are ignored#

Symptom: “blue shirt in large” returns shirts of all colours.

Cause: Your attributes are not the global pa_color and pa_size attributes, or they are custom per-product attributes.

  1. In Products → Attributes, create global attributes with the slugs color and size and assign them to your products.
  2. Clear the product cache; the attribute lists are cached for one hour.

The License screen says “Licensing is not configured yet”#

Symptom: No key field on the License screen.

Cause: The plugin was installed from a development checkout rather than the release zip.

  1. Download the zip from your technoleet.dev account (Dashboard → Downloads).
  2. Deactivate the installed copy, replace the leetcart-ai-for-woocommerce folder in wp-content/plugins/ with the one from the zip (or upload the zip under Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin and choose to replace the current version), then activate it again. Settings and chat logs are kept because the plugin was not deleted.

No updates are offered#

Symptom: A newer version exists but Dashboard → Updates shows nothing.

Cause: The license is inactive or expired, or the update check is cached.

  1. Go to LeetCart AI → License and confirm Status is active and Automatic Update is enabled.
  2. Click the check-now button next to Last Checked.
  3. Visit Dashboard → Updates and click Check Again.
