Settings
The Settings tab controls automatic audits and alerts. All three options are on by default.
| Setting | Default | What it does | When to change it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Daily audit | On | Runs an audit once a day with WP-Cron. The next scheduled run is shown under the checkbox. | Turn off on sites where you only audit manually or from CI, or on staging copies that should not keep history. |
| Audit after plugin changes | On | Runs an audit one minute after any plugin is installed or updated. Theme and translation updates do not trigger it. | Turn off if you update many plugins at once on a very large site and prefer to audit by hand afterwards. |
| Email alerts | On | Emails the site admin address when an automatic audit finds new high or critical problems. Known problems are not repeated. | Turn off if another person receives the alerts, or change the recipients with the abau_notification_recipients filter. |
Click Save settings to apply. Saving reschedules the daily event to match the setting straight away.
WP-Cron timing#
WP-Cron runs when the site gets traffic, so the daily audit happens on the first visit after it becomes due. For exact timing, trigger wp-cron.php from a system cron job, or run wp ability-audit run from WP-CLI on a schedule of your own.
License#
Below the settings form, a License section links to the license screen with Manage license. See License.
