Report

The Report tab is the home of the auditor. It shows the most recent audit, or an older one picked from History.

Toolbar#

At the top you see when the audit ran, how many abilities were audited, how long it took and the WordPress version. Next to it:

  • Since the previous audit: N new, M resolved compares this audit with the one before it by finding fingerprint. The first audit says “First audit in history: there is nothing to compare with yet.”
  • Export JSON, Export CSV and Print view buttons. See Exports.

Warnings#

Two kinds of warning can appear above the summary:

WarningMeaning
A permission callback tried to execute these abilities during the auditA permission check attempted to run an ability. Ability Auditor blocked it. Review that callback; permission checks should never run abilities.
Rule X failed and was skippedA rule threw an error. The rest of the audit still ran. If it is a custom rule added with abau_rules, check its code.

Severity cards#

One card per severity with the number of findings. Clicking a card filters the table to that severity.

Findings table#

Each row is one finding with four columns: Severity, Finding (the rule title and message), Ability and Owner. You can:

  • Filter by severity and by rule using the dropdowns above the table.
  • Tick New since previous audit to show only findings that were not in the previous audit. New findings also carry a New badge.
  • Search findings by ability name or message.
  • Sort by severity, ability or owner by clicking the column headers.

Click an ability name in any row to open its detail panel.

Older audits#

When you open an audit from the History tab, a notice says “You are viewing an older audit from ” with a link back to the latest audit. Exports and the detail panels on that page stay on that older audit.
