Release Notes

1.0.2#

Changed

  • Display conditions now fail closed: while the license is invalid, expired or missing, every Section Blocks block that carries a display condition (login state, role, device or date) is hidden from visitors instead of being shown to everyone. Blocks without conditions are unaffected; the Conditional Display panel and updates still need a valid license. A notice on the Dashboard and Plugins screens explains it and links to Settings → Section Blocks Pro.
  • The device-rule CSS is only added on pages that render a block with a device condition.
  • Requires Plugins: section-blocks is now also declared in readme.txt, and the readme documents the fail-closed behavior and that no translation files are bundled yet.
  • Composer package renamed to technoleet/section-blocks-pro; GitHub Actions workflows removed from the repository.

Fixed

  • Bundled StoreEngine License SDK 1.6.2: no more PHP 8.4 "implicitly nullable parameter" deprecation notices.
  • A copy of the plugin without the StoreEngine SDK folder (partial upload or interrupted update) no longer causes a fatal error; licensing stays off and an admin notice asks to reinstall the plugin.
  • Uninstalling the plugin now also removes its StoreEngine license state (options, transients, scheduled re-checks and the entry in the shared SDK license data) from the site.

1.0.0 (29 October 2026)#

First commercial release.

New

  • Conditional Display for every Section Blocks block (section and element blocks registered by the free plugin): a Conditional Display (Pro) panel in the block settings sidebar with show to everyone / logged-in users (optionally limited to roles) / logged-out visitors; mobile-only or desktop-and-tablet-only (CSS, 768px breakpoint); and show-from / show-until date and time in the site’s time zone. Login state, roles and dates are evaluated server-side and hidden blocks are not output at all. Conditions are stored as block attributes, so content survives Pro being deactivated.
  • Licensing and updates through technoleet.dev: a Settings → Section Blocks Pro license screen to activate and deactivate the key, a daily background re-check with a 14-day offline grace period, updates served from the store while the license is valid, and the free Section Blocks plugin updated first when a Pro release needs a newer version.
  • Update URI header so WordPress never offers updates for this plugin from another source.
  • The section_blocks_pro_block_is_visible filter, plus licensing override filters and constants for custom builds.
  • Translations placed in languages/ now load.

Requirements

  • Section Blocks 1.3.0 or newer, WordPress 6.6 or newer, PHP 7.4 or newer.
