Pricing Packages
What a package is#
A pricing package is one way to buy a product: “1 Site”, “3 Sites”, “Unlimited Lifetime” and so on. Each package becomes a Paddle price (pri_…) and carries the license rules applied to every key sold through it.
- On the Products tab click Prices next to a product.
- Click + Add Package and fill in the form.
| Field | Meaning | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Package Name | Shown in Paddle checkout as the price description. | — (required) |
| Price (USD) | Amount charged. Packages are created in USD. | — (required) |
| License Type | Lifetime (one-time) creates a one-off Paddle price and a key that never expires. Subscription (yearly) creates a yearly recurring Paddle price and a key that expires and is extended on each renewal. | Lifetime |
| Activation Limit | Maximum number of sites that can activate a key from this package. 0 means unlimited. | 1 |
| Expiry Days | Subscriptions only. How long each payment keeps the key active. Leave blank to use Default Expiry Days from Settings. | Default (365) |
| Status | Inactive stops the package from being used for new checkouts. A payment that already went through for an inactive package is still fulfilled. | Active |
Click Create Package. The pri_… ID appears under the package name and is what you put in [lc_buy_button price_id="…"].
Changing a package#
Paddle prices are immutable once created, so when you change the price or type of a package License Cart creates a new Paddle price, stores the new pri_… ID and archives the old one. Update your buy buttons with the new ID. Renaming a package only updates the description in Paddle.
Delete removes the package locally and archives its price in Paddle.
Packages are created in USD with yearly billing for subscriptions. If you need other currencies or monthly billing, confirm the price configuration in your Paddle dashboard after creation.
