FAQ
Where do I enter my License Cart license key?#
Under License Cart → License in wp-admin. One key activates the number of sites included in your plan; deactivate a site from the same screen or from your dashboard on technoleet.dev to free a slot.
What happens when my License Cart license expires?#
The plugin keeps working: products, keys, webhooks, portal and API are unaffected. You stop receiving License Cart updates and support until you renew.
Does License Cart need WooCommerce or Easy Digital Downloads?#
No. It is standalone. Paddle Billing is the only payment provider in 1.0.0.
Can I use Paddle Classic?#
No. License Cart uses Paddle Billing (API v2). Classic vendor IDs and public keys will not work.
Can I issue license keys manually?#
Yes. Open License Cart → Licenses → + New License. Products and pricing packages are synced to Paddle, so a Paddle API key is required to create those, but a manual license only needs an existing product.
Where are uploaded release ZIPs stored?#
In wp-content/uploads/lc-releases/, protected by .htaccess and web.config and served only through signed five-minute download URLs. On nginx add a deny rule (see Common Issues).
Are release ZIPs stored in Cloudflare R2?#
No. R2 is used only for private database backups. Releases always stay on your WordPress server.
Does the plugin phone home?#
Your copy of License Cart contacts technoleet.dev only to validate its license key and check for updates. No usage analytics are collected. Your own customers’ plugins contact your site, never ours.
How do I protect my plugin from being used without a license?#
Call authorize_premium_operation() from the client SDK at every premium backend entry point, not only in the UI. The Integration tab’s commercial prompt adds this for you.
Can one customer buy several products in one checkout?#
Yes. Each purchased item that matches a pricing package gets its own license, and all keys are sent in a single email.
What happens when I uninstall the plugin?#
Deleting the plugin removes its database tables, the portal page, uploaded release ZIPs and all plugin options. Create an R2 backup first.
