Adding the tracking page

The tracking form is placed on a page with the [leet_order_tracking] shortcode. It works on any page, post or other content that renders shortcodes.

Block editor#

  1. Go to Pages → Add New and give the page a title such as “Track your order”.
  2. Click the + inserter, search for Shortcode and add the Shortcode block.
  3. Type [leet_order_tracking] into the block.
  4. Publish the page.

You can also type the shortcode into a normal Paragraph block; WordPress renders it the same way. Add any text you like above or below it, for example a line telling customers where to find their order number (in the order confirmation email).

Classic editor and page builders#

Paste [leet_order_tracking] into the content area, or into a text/shortcode widget of your page builder.

Shortcode attributes#

AttributeDefaultWhat it does
track_value(empty)Prefills and immediately shows the given order number, but only for logged-in users who are allowed to see that order: shop managers and administrators (anyone who can edit orders), or the customer who placed it. Everyone else just sees the empty form.

Example:

[leet_order_tracking track_value="1234"]

A typical use is a “My orders” area where you already know the customer’s order number, or an internal page for staff.

The older [order_tracking] tag#

[order_tracking] also works as an alias, but only when no other plugin or theme has registered that shortcode name first. Use [leet_order_tracking] for new pages.

What the form shows#

The form has an Order number field, a Billing email field and a Track Order button. Customers can type the order number with or without a leading #; the plugin ignores it. The plugin’s stylesheet is loaded automatically on any page containing the shortcode.

If you use a plugin that changes WooCommerce order numbers (sequential or custom order numbers), it will usually work: the lookup uses the same woocommerce_shortcode_order_tracking_order_id filter as WooCommerce’s own order tracking form, which those plugins hook into.
