Quick Start
The shortest path from a fresh install to your first held call.
- Check the settings. Open Agent Control > Settings. Make sure Gate enabled is ticked and Scope is “Agents only”. Add your email under Approver emails (the site admin email is used if you leave it empty).
- Look at the risk list. Open Agent Control > Risk. Every ability on your site is listed with its risk level, its reasons and the decision an agent gets by default. Low and medium run; high and critical wait for approval.
- Connect an agent. Create an Application Password for a user (Users > Profile > Application Passwords), and use it in your MCP plugin or agent. Give it a clear name, such as “Claude content agent”: that name becomes the agent’s label.
- Let the agent make a call. Ask it to do something. After its first call it appears on Agent Control > Agents.
- Approve a held call. Ask the agent to do something risky, such as deleting a post. It is told the action is waiting for approval. Open Agent Control > Approvals, click the request, review it, and click Approve and run.
- Undo it. On the same request screen, click Roll back. The post comes back exactly as it was.
- Check the trail. Open Agent Control > Activity to see every call, and click Verify integrity to check the audit trail.
For a new site, consider ticking New agents start paused in Settings. Each new agent is then denied everything until you choose its mode, so nothing runs without you knowing about it first.
