Key pages
Pages are detected automatically (up to 12): the home page, the latest post, the latest page, a category archive, the login page and the REST API index. With WooCommerce active it also checks the shop, a product, the cart, the checkout and My account. On multisite it checks a sample of subsites (three by default).
| Setting | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Detect pages automatically | On | Turns the automatic list on or off |
| Custom pages | None | Up to 20 URLs on your own site, each with text it must contain and text it must never contain |
| Logged-in checks | Off | Creates a read-only “Update Doctor probe” user that nobody can log in as, and also checks the dashboard |
| Subsites sample | 3 | How many subsites are checked on multisite |
Custom pages are limited to your site’s own hosts. Required text is the most direct way to protect something that returns HTTP 200 and still breaks, such as a checkout form.
