Developers can change behaviour with filters. A few of the most useful:

FilterPurpose
updoc_key_pagesChange the key pages. Hosts are enforced afterwards
updoc_owned_dataChange the options, option patterns and tables an item owns
updoc_probe_allowed_hostsHosts a probe may contact. Add subsite hosts here
updoc_check_secondsDeadline of one after-check (default 120)
updoc_settle_secondsSettle pause (default 5, capped at 5)
updoc_log_pathThe PHP error log path to read
updoc_observer_inlineWhether an observed update is checked in the request that installed it (default true)
// Allow checks to visit a subsite on its own domain.
add_filter( 'updoc_probe_allowed_hosts', function ( $hosts ) {
	$hosts[] = 'shop.example.com';
	return $hosts;
} );

Cron hooks are updoc_run_step, updoc_scheduler (hourly) and updoc_maintenance (twice daily). Actions updoc_proposal_created, updoc_proposal_executed, updoc_run_outcome and updoc_run_finished let other code react to runs.
