Release Notes

1.0.2#

Added

  • Settings > Reports: a new tab where you set the agency name and logo shown at the top of client reports. The logo is an https URL or the ID of an image in the Media Library. The fields existed but were not shown anywhere before.

Changed

  • The Reports screen and the documentation now point to Settings > Reports for the agency name and logo.
  • Development: the host test runner defaults to a stable test-library path (~/.cache/update-doctor-wp-tests), the Composer package is named technoleet/update-doctor, and the Plugin Check notes cover this release.

Fixed

  • Uninstalling the plugin now also removes its StoreEngine license state (the licence options, transients and scheduled checks) from each site, so nothing of Update Doctor is left behind.

1.0.0#

First release.

New

  • Safe updates for plugins and themes: preflight, risk read, snapshot, baseline, update, settle, verify, restore, re-verify, diagnose and propose.
  • Key page checks for fatals, HTTP status, the critical error screen, required and forbidden text, layout, missing assets, shortcodes, PHP warnings and the error log.
  • Exact file and option restore with SHA-256 verification. Tables restore only by approval and never touch core tables.
  • Rules diagnosis, plus optional AI diagnosis through Settings > Connectors with a monthly token budget and redacted evidence.
  • Approval queue with preview, undo and expiry. Approving needs a logged-in user in wp-admin or WP-CLI --user.
  • Update policies (auto, approve, hold, never), update window, cooldown, and opt-in takeover of WordPress auto-updates.
  • Protection for updates started elsewhere, and observation of core updates.
  • Abilities for agents (MCP Adapter), wp update-doctor commands, client reports and a tamper-evident audit log.
  • Licensing and updates through StoreEngine on technoleet.dev.
