FAQ
Does CiteCart change my products by itself?#
No. Every change goes through the fix queue, and you approve it first.
Do I need an AI provider?#
Only for AI fixes and policy-page extraction. Connect one under Settings > Connectors in WordPress.
Will AI invent a GTIN, price or spec?#
No. AI never touches price, SKU, GTIN, stock, sale dates or tax. Brand and attribute values must appear in the product text.
Is customer data sent to an AI provider?#
No. Only product titles, descriptions, attributes and the text of your policy pages are sent, to the provider you connected.
Do I need the license for the plugin to work?#
No. The license controls updates and support only.
What does the license check send to technoleet.dev?#
The licensing component sends the license key (once you enter it), the site URL, the plugin version, the admin email address or addresses and administrator name, a random device ID, the site language, the licensing component version and the product ID. This happens on license activation, deactivation and status checks, and on update checks. The license never switches features on or off. Besides the AI provider you connect, the only other request CiteCart makes is the structured data check, which fetches up to 5 of your own product pages.
Does CiteCart store anything in the visitor’s browser?#
Only a session flag named citecart_hit in sessionStorage, set by the AI traffic script so one visit is not counted twice. It is not a cookie and is cleared when the tab closes. Depending on your jurisdiction you may need to treat it as analytics storage in your consent setup.
What is removed when I delete the plugin?#
Nothing, unless you turn on Remove all CiteCart data when the plugin is deleted in Settings.
